DISCOVER THE RSA CORPORATE DIVISIONS

Rider Sport Australia (RSA) Divisions are not separate entities to the RSA and have no separate legal existence but relish some degree of freedom in setting their goals, processes, strategies, and benchmarks. RSA Divisions are separated into Powered and Unpowered sections. Powered rider sport means a vehicle that is ridden, which is propelled by a motor. Unpowered rider sport means a vehicle that is ridden, which is propelled by a person.

RSA has 5 x Divisions in the Powered Section. Each Division houses the relevant disciplines, ie. the different manifestations of powered rider sport, which have their own objectives and specific rules:
  • Circuit (Track, Road, Scooter, Speedway, Supermoto, Vintage);

  • Motocross (Arenacross, Freestyle, Motocross, Supercross, Straight, Vintage);

  • Off Road (Cross Country, Endurance, Extreme Off Road, Super Endurance, Trials, Vintage);

  • Specialised (Education/ Training, Sprint/ Drag Race, Hill Climb, Land Speed, Gymkhana); and

  • SSV/ UTV (Cross Country, Enduro, Flat Track, Hard Enduro, Trials, Motocross, Rally, Supermoto, Rallycross)
The RSA has 3 x Divisions in the Unpowered Section. Each Division houses the relevant disciplines, ie. the different manifestations of unpowered rider sport, which have their own objectives and specific rules:
  • Circuit (BMX, Scooter, Track);

  • Off Road (Cross Country, Mtn Bike, Trials);

  • Specialised (Education/ Training, Road) plus Down Hill Billy Kart and Stand Up Paddleboard.
Each Powered and Unpowered Division, which is for the purpose of SPORT will comprise Sport Commissions for each Discipline. Sport Commissions are volunteer bodies that consider, disseminate, amend, interpret, and assist in the enforcement of technical and operational rules for amateur and pro-am competition events sanctioned by the RSA.

Each Powered and Unpowered Division, which is for the purpose of RECREATION will comprise Recreation Commissions for each Discipline. Recreation Commissions are volunteer bodies that discuss ways to enhance and promote recreational riding events sanctioned by the RSA.

All RSA Divisions are coordinated by National Managers that look after specific Discipline(s) and are identified as National Discipline Managers (NDMs), which help control the activities and events of a discipline along with a dedicated volunteer support team, which may include state and local rider representatives. NDMs may manage more than one Discipline, eg. Dirt Track, Flat Track and Grass Track may be managed by the one NDM. NDMs are remunerated via a commission, which is a percentage of every Rider that purchases an RSA membership that nominates a specific discipline during their application.
