Rider Sport Australia (RSA) is more than just AMA Version 2.0, it is AMA 2.0 +++ and then some!

RSA is a member based service organisation, which has been established to serve participants and organisers of rider sport events, which include powered and unpowered vehicles that are ridden. Unpowered Rider Sport means all forms of vehicles, which are ridden that are propelled by a person (eg. bicycle, scooter, tricycle). Powered Rider Sport means all forms of vehicles, which are ridden that are powered by a motor (eg, ATV, motorcycle, trike). RSA has been created by professionals that think outside the box and what has been built is a very unique Group, which both APRA and global approved insurers are happy to work with.

RSA is more than just bicycle sport and motorcycle sport, the RSA is part of a larger Group, which includes the Camping and Outdoors Association (COA), Camping and Outdoors Cooperative (COC), Driver Sport Association (DSA) and Rider Sport Association (RSA). The formation of this Group is to ensure that what happened to the AMA and what is currently happening to another sanctioning body never happens again in Australia.

The structure of the Group is not like any sporting bodies before it and our global insurer has confirmed this by saying "nothing like this currently exists or has ever existed." The Group is made up of national governing bodies plus state and local companies, which are not for profit subsidiaries of the national companies. Local RSA clubs are NOT affiliated to their respective state bodies but are connected directly with the relevant national company to make the governance of the organisations far cleaner and easier. This structure is to remove any and all 'middle management' issues, which we have all seen and experienced with many traditional sporting bodies in Australia.

We recognise that some countries where we will be operating have a smaller population compared to others, this means the higher populated countries where we will operate can produce significantly more income for our insurer, therefore 'propping up' the lower income earning countries such as Australia. All forms of rider sport are inherently dangerous, particularly motorcycling, so to ensure motorcycle sport will always have a home in Australia, both powered and unpowered rider activities are included to diversify the income produced for our insurer, therefore helping to 'prop up' the powered activities which may produce more claims than the unpowered activities.

Our insurers also provide cover for RSA's sister company COA, which among other services, provides group insurance programs for Campgrounds (caravan parks and private camps), Operators (auto and moto tours), and Accommodation (backpacker hostels and country pubs). These additional activities are considered a significantly lower risk and will therefore help to 'prop up' the rider sport activities, which may incur claims. The group also includes the COC, which is a distributing co-operative where members can own shares in land and therefore be part owners of facilities, to help ensure rider sport will always have a home in Australia!!

And within the first years of operation, we have agreed with our insurers that we will establish an Australian Government approved Discretionary Mutual Fund (DMF) for the entire Group, which is an insurance-like product that will 'share' the risk with our insurers to ensure the continuity of campgrounds, tour operators, accommodation providers, and particularly rider sport in Australia.

As you can see, the RSA is not just another version of the AMA, it is part of a global operation that exists to ensure motorcycling will always exist and have a home in Australia and countries just like it. Herein is an invitation:
